Indonesian Railway Preservation Society
(IRPS)

In 2001, a group of Indonesian railfans discussed about the fate of the remaining three CC200s - last survivors of the first Indonesian main line diesel class. The main concern was about the possibility of their extinction, which will be a major loss to the Indonesian railway history.

The discussions were followed with the formation of a group - Friends of CC200, under the auspices of the Indonesian Railway Preservation Society (IRPS) - whose intention was to have at least one example of the locomotives preserved.

To date, we have cooperated with the PT Kereta Api (Daop 3) to restore CC200 15. The locomotive has been road-tested in August 25, 2003, and we intend to hold celebrations of its fiftieth birthday in September 28, 2003.
